Brand Bengkel: Turn your values into visuals


Dates | July 23rd - August 23rd, 2024


During this 5-week Brand Bengkel (Malay word for workshop), we’ll meet 2x a week to launch a unique brand identity by diving into my own creative framework of designing a brand’s visual identity.

This Bengkel structure is inspired by my time as a Biotech Undergrad, where each Module would have a lecture and lab compenent (where my science nerds at?). I’d sit in lecture learning about the foundations of an experiment. Then, we’ll see it all come to live during the lab experiments.

As someone who is self taught, learning by doing is an important part of my journey and I wanted to share what has worked for me to bring your brand’s visual identity to life in just 5 weeks. Here’s how:

Tuesday | 3:30pm - 5pm ET

Design Bengkel Lectures:

Each week we’ll get together to chat about tools that can help bridge the gap between practical design tips while still honoring your creative process.

Friday | 3:30pm - 5pm ET

Design Bengkel Labs:
Using the tool of body doubling, we’ll use this time to work on the skills we talked about on Tuesday so that what needs to be done, gets done together. I’ll be there to answer any questions that pop up while you’re working!

    Dive into the world of colors and paint a story that speaks volumes about your brand's vibe and personality. It's like storytelling, but with a digital paintbrush!

  • Week 5: Craft your Brand Identity
    You’ll put together a foundational visual identity kit specific to your brand, that not only looks good but feels right for you and your brand.

  • Nope, not at all. For the most part, we'll use pen and paper. Aside from that, we'll use a free design platform called Canva, which you may be familiar with already - YAY! This software is free but you are welcome to upgrade to the paid version if you'd like.

  • You do not need all that to get started in this incubator. This brand incubator is different than other branding workshops because it focuses on the creative process to help you get out of indecision and overwhelm that can often creep in when designing a brand.
