Websites for Yoga Teachers: yoga for good

I’m so proud to share this website and branding for Yoga for Good. Yoga for Good is a neighborhood yoga studio in Oxford, North Carolina. When Darcy started practicing yoga, she realized that there was not a place in her neighborhood where neighbors, residents and people passing by could practice yoga together in respect of their differences.

Using the name that represents the mission of the studio, I crafted a word-mark logo to complement the visual language and create more flexibility across various platforms. We also implemented a natural and earth tones color palette to convey an inviting, approachable and wholesome feel. In the typography, we used a friendly yet elevated cursive type for the logo and as accent type on the website and contrasted that with a combination of sans serif fonts for the header, subheadings and body copy to feel friendly and simple.

When designing the website, I focused on helping the audience understand how Yoga For Good can be a curious place for them to explore how this practice can be for them, as well as disrupting any myths they may have about starting a yoga practice in the ‘new' here’ page along with an FAQ section. With many people in the community being ‘new’ to yoga, we carefully crafted the classes page explaining in detail what they can expect from each each class in detail without overwhelming them by using the accent typography and accordion blocks that expand for the skimmers and the thorough audience.

It was such a pleasure to be able to work with Darcy, the founder of Yoga For Good. I look forward to watching you grow with the community and build a space for the residents and visitors of Oxford, NC to practice yoga. And for anyone nearby the Oxford region or passing by, I hope you take a class with them!
