Mission Based Website: Everybody Breathe

I’m so proud to share this website, EveryBody Breathe - a non-profit organization with a mission to bridge The Yoga Gap. When they reached out to me in 2021, we started a phasic approach to growing that we didn’t even notice we were doing. Just in case you are interested in a phase by phase approach to building a brand and website - here are the four (4) phases of intentional growth:

Phase 1: Series of brand consulting sessions.

Phase 2: Keeping their previous website current.

Phase 3: Re-branding.

Phase 4: Design a new website to align with their mission.

Since this organization was and is still going through deep organizational and personal shifts, it was important in the mission that they did carry the audience along with them.

Because of this liminal space they were in, we changed the colors of the existing logo where they want to update their visual identity while still maintaining brand recognition. Changing the color of a logo is a way to freshen up the brand's image and give it a new look, while still retaining the core elements of the logo that are already familiar to their audience.

As an organization whose practices center around rest, a cool color palette was chosen. Cool colors are generally associated with calming and relaxing emotions. In the typography, we used an invitational yet trustworthy serif type for the logo and header and contrasted that with a combination of sans serif fonts for the subheadings and body copy to express honesty and simplicity.

When designing the website, I focused on helping the audience understand how EveryBody Breathe can be a curious place for them to explore how they can be engaged with the mission by asking website visitors what they know about The Yoga Gap. With many people in the community already familiar with the organization’s commitment to yoga that is inclusive and adaptable, we carefully crafted the offerings explaining in detail what they can expect from each each class in detail and how they can contribute to the program using accordion blocks that expand for the skimmers and the thorough audience.

It was such a pleasure to be able to work with Jen from EveryBody Breathe. I look forward to watching you grow, engage and rest with the community and build a space for folks to practice freely. And for anyone curious, I hope to rest with you in their monthly EveryBody Rest offering, which is a 75 minute Yoga Nidra practice where no prior yoga experience is required!
